John Otto

Nach Abschluss seines Studiums des Industriedesigns arbeitete John Otto (Neuseeland) mit der New Zealand Opera & Ballet Company und der Australian Opera im Sydney Opera House. Er erhielt ein Stipendium, um bei Margaret Harris am Motley Design Course in London zu studieren und debütierte mit Darius Milhauds „Les Malheurs d'Orphée" an der Niederländischen Oper in Amsterdam.

Seine Entwürfe für Oper, Ballett und Theater sind seitdem auf vielen Bühnen zu sehen, darunter: Teatro alla Scala Mailand, Maggio Musicale Florenz, Norwegisches Nationalballett Oslo, Polnisches Nationalballett Warschau, National Ballet of Canada Toronto, Vancouver Opera, San Francisco Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet Seattle. Athen Festival, Holland Festival, Wexford Festival, Aldeburgh Festival. Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hannover, Scottish Ballet Glagow, Crucible Theatre Sheffield, Sadler's Wells Theatre, Almeida Theatre und Lyric Hammersmith, London. Niederländisches Nationalballett Amsterdam, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Niederländische Nationale Tourneeoper und Opernballett Vlaanderen Antwerpen.

Entwürfe für David Dawson: „The Disappeared”, „The World According to Us”, „Sweet Spell of Oblivion”, „The Third Light”, „dancingmadlybackwards”, „Empire Noir”, „Swan Lake”, „Legacy Variations” und zuletzt „Anima Animus” für das Niederländische Nationalballett.
