first encounters
A First Date, Episode 3
13. September 2020 - 21. October 2020
Duration: approx. 1 hour 10 minutes, no interval
The first seconds of a first encounter are crucial. The direction of the light, the angle of their head. Is your heart fluttering, do you shake hands, or put your arms around them? Nice to meet you. The new Ballet Director Demis Volpi introduces himself, not as a single person but together with his ensemble. In three episodes that fit together but also operate independently, the company will dance a selection of his earlier works while also introducing the work of other choreographers who will help to shape the artistic profile of the Ballett am Rhein. We’re excited! And a little nervous. Are you?
A famous German weekly put together a list of useful tips for first dates: “Meet in a safe place. Don’t get too dressed up. Use all your senses to enjoy your dating partner’s first live appearance. Listen to your inner voice and trust it.”
