Soloist
The mezzo-soprano Valerie Eickhoff completed her vocal studies with Prof. Konrad Jarnot at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. Various scholarships and master classes, including with Brigitte Fassbaender and Bernarda Fink, extended her training. In the 2018/19 season she was a member of the Opera Studio Niederrhein. After a year in the opera studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where she sang, among others. Schäfer (Ravel "L'Enfant et les sortilèges"), Annina (Verdi "La traviata") and Kate Pinkerton (Puccini "Madama Butterfly"), Valerie Eickhoff switched to the local ensemble with the 2020/21 season and most recently sang Diana (Offenbach "Orpheus in der Unterwelt"), Rosina (Rossini "Il barbiere di Siviglia"), Hänsel (Humperdinck "Hänsel und Gretel"), Cherubino (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro"), Annina (Verdi "La traviata") as well as the title role in "Ronja Räubertochter" (Arnecke) and Lucienne in Korngold's "Die tote Stadt". In addition to her operatic activities, Valerie Eickhoff regularly performs in recitals. She attracted attention nationally at internationally renowned competitions such as Neue Stimmen and the Glyndebourne Opera Cup, in September 2021 she won the 3rd prize of the ARD Music Competition in the singing category and in January 2022 she was awarded the Emmerich Smola Prize in two categories at once: She won the Media Prize for Young Opera Stars as well as the Orchestra Prize. In the same year she was also awarded 3rd prize in the Aria category at the Concours musical international de Montréal.
At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Valerie Valerie Eickhoff will be on stage in the 2024/25 season as Rosina in Rossini's „Il barbiere di Siviglia“
