Nicole Schrumpf

Clarinettist Nicole Schrumpf received her first clarinet lessons from Kurt Karst in 1982 and was successful several times at ‘Jugend Musiziert’ from 1987-93. In 1990, she became a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Youth Orchestra and studied with Hans Pfeifer at the Heidelberg-Mannheim State University of Music from 1993. Following her studies, she completed a one-year internship with the SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden. From 1997, she was employed by the Munich Radio Orchestra, first as deputy principal clarinettist and then as principal clarinettist. She has held this position with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra since 2005.
