Rafael Vedra

Rafael Vedra was born in Brazil and trained as a dancer at the Bolshoi Theatre School in Joinville, Brazil. After graduating in 2018, he became a member of the Junior Company there. He attended courses in Moscow (Bolshoi Theatre) and Toronto (Canada's National Ballet School) and took part in the Prix de Lausanne in 2017. From fall 2019 to summer 2024, he danced a wide-ranging repertoire as a member of the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich, both as part of the group and in solo roles, performing in works by David Dawson, Paul Lightfoot and Sol León, Sharon Eyal, Marco Goecke, Alexei Ratmansky, John Neumeier, Christopher Wheeldon, Angelin Preljocaj and Andrey Kaydanovskiy, among others. He also gained his first experience with his own choreographic projects. Rafael Vedra will be a member of Ballett am Rhein from the 2024/25 season.
