Orazio Di Bella

Italian dancer Orazio Di Bella trained at Elmhurst Ballet School (associated with the Birmingham Royal Ballet), completing his diploma in 2011. While still a student, he gained his first stage experience with appearances at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, the Hungarian Youth Dance Festival in Budapest and on several tours with the Birmingham Royal Ballet and was able to work on leading works of the classical repertoire – including parts in ‘Swan Lake’ (Ashton), 'Slaughter on 10th Avenue’ (Balanchine), ‘Napoli’ (Bournonville), ‘Elite Syncopations’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (MacMillan), ‘La Bayadère’ (Petipa) and ‘Coppélia’ (Wright). From 2011 to 2015 he performed solo roles in works by choreographers including Nacho Duato, Vladimir Malakhov, Vasily Medvedev, Massimo Morricone, Marius Petipa, Uwe Scholz and Youri Vámos for companies including the Slovak National Ballet and the Teatro Massimo Palermo. In 2015, he became a member of the Hanover State Opera Ballet Company where he danced in pieces by Ballet Director Jörg Mannes and works choreographed by Jirí Bubenícek, Nils Christe, Georg Reischl and Yaron Shamir.
Orazio Di Bella has been a member of the Ballett am Rhein since the 2018/19 season and was most recently seen here in Twyla Tharp's "Commentaries on the Floating World", in Aszure Barton's "Come In", as the Man in White in Demis Volpi's "Geschlossene Spiele", in the title role of Volpi's "Der Nussknacker", and as Merten and Lyschko in "Krabat". He also danced in Andrey Kaydanovskiy's "Die kahle Sängerin", as a teacher in Flemming Flind's "The Lesson", in the role of Franz in Hélène Blackburn's "Coppélia x Machina" and in Blackburn's "Choleric" as well as in Gil Harush's "Don't look at the jar".
