Lilja Steininger
Lilja Steininger won first prizes at the national competition “Jugend musiziert” for six consecutive years in her youth.
“Jugend musiziert” competition. At the age of 14, she made her debut as a soloist with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. After four years as a junior student at the Berlin University of the Arts, she continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the flute class of Prof. Hansgeorg Schmeiser. She was a scholarship holder of the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Together with her sister, the pianist Aniele Steininger, she founded the Steininger Duo in 2010, which regularly performs in Austria, Germany and Switzerland and has already won several prizes. She has also won several awards as a soloist.
Lilja Steininger has been principal flute with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra since 2019.
