Bogdan Taloș comes from Cluj-Napoca in Romania. The bass graduated from the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy there in 2005, attended various masterclasses and has won prizes at numerous prestigious singing competitions. Before becoming a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble in the 2014/15 season, he made his opera debut in Romania in 2010 as Donizetti's Don Pasquale. He then appeared as Escamillo (Bizet ‘Carmen’) and Ferrando (Verdi ‘Il Trovatore’) at various opera houses in Romania in 2012 and made a guest appearance as Sarastro (Mozart ‘Die Zauberflöte’) at the St. Margareten Opera Festival in Austria. He was also a member of the opera studio at the Komische Oper Berlin, to which he continues to return regularly. His most important roles at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein include the Verdi roles of Filippo II (‘Don Carlo’), Banco (‘Macbeth’), Il Re (‘Aida’), Giorgio Talbot (‘Maria Stuarda’), as well as Giorgio (Bellini ‘I Puritani’), Raimondo (Donizetti ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’), Sarastro (Mozart ‘Die Zauberflöte’), Frère Laurent (Berlioz ‘Roméo et Juliette’), Leporello (Mozart ‘Don Giovanni’), Alidoro (Rossini ‘La Cenerentola’), Figaro (Mozart ‘Le nozze di Figaro’), Fasolt (Wagner ‘Das Rheingold’), Daland (Wagner ‘Der fliegende Holländer’) and Duke Bluebeard in Bartók's ‘Bluebeard's Castle’. Most recently, he appeared as Gremin (Tchaikovsky's ‘Eugene Onegin’).
His concert repertoire includes the Requiem settings by Mozart, Verdi and Brahms as well as Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Bogdan Taloș is a regular guest at opera houses such as the Opéra National de Paris, the Hamburg State Opera and the Deutsche Oper Berlin and was a guest at the Tokyo Spring Festival. He made his debut as Conte Rodolfo (Bellini ‘La sonnambula’) at the Semperoper in Dresden in 2023. He made his house debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London as Monterone (Verdi ‘Rigoletto’) and will return there at the end of 2024 as Colline in Puccini's ‘La bohème’. His roles at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in the 2024/25 season include Lindorf/ Coppélius/ Dapertutto/ Dr Miracle (Offenbach ‘The Tales of Hoffmann’) as well as Raimondo, Gremin and Basilio.
