Born in São Paulo, Kauan Soares began training as a dancer aged 14 at the Phalibis Studio de Dança, before receiving a full scholarship to study at the Miami City Ballet in 2010. In 2016, he accepted Julio Bocca’s invitation to join the Ballet Nacional de Sodre in Montevideo, Uruguay. In recent years, he has danced in works choreographed by Nacho Duato, Jiří Kylián, Kenneth MacMillan, John Cranko, George Balanchine und Marcia Haydée, who was one of his most important teachers, along with Julio Bocca, Igor Yebra and Wilhelm Burmann. Kauan Soares became a member of the Ballett am Rhein company at the beginning of the 2020/21 season. Since then, he has danced the roles of the Man in White and Franco in Demis Volpi's choreographies "Closed Games", the title role in "The Nutcracker" and that of Merten in "Krabat", among others. He also appeared in Volpi's "The thing with feathers", Andrey Kaydanovskiy's "The Bald Singer", Twyla Tharp's "Commentaries on the Floating World", Neshama Nashman's "A Little Woman", as a bandit in Roland Petit's "Carmen" and as the first intruder in "The Cage" by Jerome Robbins.
