Charlotte Langner

Charlotte Langner, a member of the opera studio at Deutsche Oper am Rhein since the 2024/25 season, was a violist in the NRW State Youth Orchestra and performed as a teenager at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf and as the Second Boy in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" at the Krefeld/Mönchengladbach Theatre. While still at school, the soprano was a junior student at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf with Juliane Banse and completed her further studies at the Mozarteum Salzburg in 2020, where she performed in concerts and as La Virtù and Damigella in Monteverdi's "L'incoronazione di Poppea". Charlotte Langner has also taken part in masterclasses with Brigitte Fassbaender, Andreas Schmidt, Ruth Ziesak, Christiane Iven, Luca Pianca and Wolfgang Holzmair and in the German chamber music course Jugend musiziert. She is a prizewinner of the German National Singing Competition in the junior category, a multiple national prizewinner of "Jugend musiziert" and received the special prize of the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation. The composer Thomas Blomenkamp created ‘Drei Lieder mit Gedichten von Joseph Eichendorff’ for her, which she premiered at the Heinrich Heine Institute in Düsseldorf in 2018. In the 2023/2024 season, the young singer made her debut at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Uli in Lucia Ronchetti's "Das fliegende Klassenzimmer". Her roles in the current season include Papagena (Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte"), Ghost (Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas") and Taumännchen (Humperdinck's "Hänsel and Gretel"). She can also be heard as a soloist in the UFO project "Eternal October" and in concerts.
