Soprano Julia Danz studied singing at the music academies in Saarbrücken and Leipzig and graduated with honours. She made her debut at the Leipzig Opera during her training and is a multiple prizewinner and finalist in international singing competitions.
After completing her studies, she was initially a member of the Niederrhein Opera Studio, followed by a permanent engagement at the Staatsoperette Dresden (2017-2019). Since then, Julia Danz has worked as a freelancer and regularly performs at renowned theatres, including the Gärtnerplatztheater Munich, the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, the Staatstheater Chemnitz, the theatres in Cottbus and Regensburg, the Stadttheater Bremerhaven, the Opernfestspiele Heidenheim, the Goetheanum in Switzerland and the Saaremaa Opera Festival in Estonia. Her repertoire includes a number of important roles in her field, including Pamina (“Die Zauberflöte”), Gretel (“Hänsel und Gretel”), Lauretta (“Gianni Schicchi”), Mimì (“La bohème”) and Euridice (Gluck: “Orfeo ed Euridice”).
In addition to her opera engagements, Julia Danz is also a much sought-after concert soloist. She has been invited to Japan to perform Beethoven's 9th Symphony and has worked with renowned orchestras such as the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Bergische Symphoniker.
This season, Julia Danz can be seen at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Zeitel in Jerry Bock's “Anatevka”.
