Felix Aarts
Varie Gallery in New York. Neben Malerei und Fotografie sucht Felix Aarts auch die Nähe zur Bühne und entwirft für seinen ehemaligen Tänzerkollegen Martin Chaix das Bühnenbild zu „We were right here!!“ im Ballettabend b.15.

When Felix Aarts began studying painting in 2009, he could already look back on a successful career as a dancer. Trained at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem and at the Royal Conservatorium of the Hague, Felix Aarts had been engaged by companies such as the ballet of the State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin, the Ballet du Rhin and the Leipzig Ballet, where he presented his first own choreography with “Traan” in 2007. In 2009 he began to study painting at the Strykejernet Art School in Oslo, then he went to live in New York and switched to the Pratt Institute there. During his studies he began exhibiting his work in single and joint exhibitions at venues including the International Choreography Centre in Leipzig, the Galerie Goirle in Holland and the Ed. Varie Gallery in New York. Besides painting and photography Felix Aarts feels drawn to the stage, and is the designer of the set for “We were right here!!” in the ballet multiple bill b.15 at Deutsche Oper am Rhein for his former dancer colleague Martin Chaix.
