He has been hailed as the shooting star of the countertenor scene: Valer Sabadus’s career began explosively, winning the German Recording Prize in 2012 as well as an ECHO Klassik in the category “Classics Without Borders” and thrilling audiences in Mozart operas and contemporary music theatre productions in addition to his considerable success in baroque operas and as an oratorio and concert singer. The audience of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein greeted him with ovations for his performances in the title role of Händel’s “Xerxes”.

Performing alongside Valer Sabadus is the Munich Hofkapelle: one of the best known orchestras for baroque music whose concerts with the young countertenor have been particularly successful in the past and won the German Music Critics‘ Prize together with him in 2012 for their CD “Hasse reloaded”. Combining the highest musical standards, infectious passion and thrilling virtuosity, the orchestra has built up an excellent reputation since it was re-formed in 2009 under the leadership of the baroque violinist and conductor Rüdiger Lottert.
