The Golden Age of Broadway
Musical concert with songs by Cole Porter, Leonard Bernstein and others
Description
The golden era of the musical made not only Broadway sparkle in the 1930s to 1960s with casual elegance, opulent orchestral sounds and immortal melodies.
Whether George Gershwin, Cole Porter or Leonard Bernstein, whether "Summertime" or "I could have danced all night", whether "Maria" or "You'll never walk alone" - their creators are legends, their hits still world-famous today.
Under the musical direction of Peter Christian Feigel, a proven expert in the entertainment repertoire as long-time Kapellmeister at the Staatsoperette Dresden and regular guest at the Komische Oper Berlin, ensemble members of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein together with the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra present highlights of the classic musical from "West Side Story" to "Kiss me Kate" for the first time in a glamorous musical concert. Carsten Kirchmeier ("Comedian Harmonists in Concert") will present.
