On July 5, 2025, Deutsche Oper am Rhein will bid farewell to its long-standing General Director Prof. Christoph Meyer, who led the two-city institute with its two divisions of opera and ballet from 2009 to 2025, with a grand gala.
To mark his farewell, soloists from the ensemble, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein choir and guests with close ties to the company will perform together with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra and the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra. The musical direction will be shared by chief conductor Vitali Alekseenok, Wen-Pin Chien, Antonino Fogliani and Axel Kober.
