Zhive Kremshovski

Macedonian baritone Zhive Kremshovski studied singing at the University of Skopje under Vesna Ginovska Ilkova and at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen under Rachel Robins, where he completed both studies with honours. He took part in masterclasses with Paul Curran, Ks. Wolfgang Milgramm, Ks. Linda Watson, Anne Schwanewilms, Janet Williams, Lilia Ilieva, Helen and Klaus Donath and Helmuth Deutsch to complement his musical training. In 2012, he won 1st prize at the 5th International Competition for Solo Singers "Bruna Špiler" in Montenegro and at the 15th International Competition for Solo Singers "Nikola Cvejić" in Ruma/Serbia. He has received scholarships from the Lions Club Essen-Werethina, the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia, the international study programme STIBET of the DAAD and the "Richard Wagner" Association Magdeburg.

Zhive Kremshovski made his operatic debut in 2014 at the Macedonian State Opera as Guglielmo in "Così fan tutte". From 2017 to 2019, he was a member of the Young Ensemble of the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen, where he performed roles such as Belcore in "L'elisir d'amore", Donner in "Das Rheingold", Schlemihl in "The Tales of Hoffmann" and Fyodor Mikhailovich Drebednyov in "Moscow, Cheryomushki". He also appeared as Moralès in "Carmen" at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, as Kilian in "Der Freischütz" at the Wernigerode Castle Festival in 2016 and as Henri Martel in Offenbach's "Un mari à la porte" at the Philharmonie Essen in 2019. From 2020 to 2022, he was a member of the ensemble at Magdeburg Theatre, where his roles included Count Capulet in "Roméo et Juliette", Nathan Detroit in "Guys and Dolls", Count von Ceprano in "Rigoletto", Kruschina in "The Bartered Bride" and Leporello in "Don Giovanni". He has also made guest appearances at several theatres, including Wuppertal (as Barone Douphol in "La Traviata"), Staatstheater Braunschweig (as Donner in "Das Rheingold") and Nordhausen (as Count Capulet in "Romeo and Juliet").

In the 2023/24 season, Zhive Kremshovski will take on the roles of Monsieur Javelinot in "Dialogues des Carmélites" and Mendel in "Anatevka" at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
