Xavier Moreno

The tenor Xavier Moreno comes from Barcelona, where he studied singing and piano at the “Conservatori Superior del Liceu” and graduated with honors. He began his career in the ensemble of the Nationaltheater Mannheim, where he developed a remarkable repertoire. Since then, engagements have taken him to venues such as the Opéra Bastille (Paris), the Teatro Real (Madrid), the Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), the Royal Opera of Copenhagen, the Teatro Solis (Montevideo), the Hungarian State Opera (Budapest), Opera de Strasbourg, Croatian National Opera (Split), Theater Bern, Seoul Opera House, Latvian National Opera (Riga), Tel Aviv, Rouen, Rennes, Limoges, Maribor, as well as the opera houses in Cologne, Leipzig, Hanover, Wiesbaden, Saarbrücken, Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Augsburg, Halle, Dortmund, Darmstadt, Mainz, Heidelberg, Hagen and the Ruhrtriennale, among others.
His opera repertoire includes the title roles in Verdi's “Don Carlo”, as well as Massenet's “Werther”, Don Alvaro (“La forza del destino”), Cavaradossi (“Tosca”), Don José (“Carmen”), Otello (“Otello”), Pinkerton (“Madama Butterfly”), Gabriele Adorno (“Simon Boccanegra”), Radames (“Aida”), Manrico (“Il Trovatore”), Calaf (“Turandot”), Turiddu (“Cavalleria Rusticana”), Canio (“Pagliacci”), Chénier (“Andrea Chénier”), Luigi (“Il Tabarro”), Edgardo (“Lucia di Lammermoor”), Rodolfo (“La Bohème”) and Alfredo (“La traviata”). His concert repertoire ranges from Verdi's “Requiem” to Puccini's “Messa di gloria”, Beethoven's “Christ on the Mount of Olives” and the 9th Symphony, among others. He has performed these works with orchestras such as the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Symphonic Orchestra, Orchestra and Choir of the Arena di Verona, the Symphonic Orchestra Haifa, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Bochum Symphony Orchestra and the Camerata Orchestra Jerusalem.
