Stacey Alleaume
Stacey Alleaume completed her Bachelor's degree at the University of Melbourne in 2008. An Australian-Mauritian soprano and winner of a number of competitions, she has received several scholarships, including the AOAC Dame Joan Sutherland and Melba Opera Trust Scholarships, and has participated in various masterclasses internationally. As a member of Opera Australia's Moffatt Oxenbould Young Artists Program, she has performed at the Sydney Opera House in 2016 and 2017 as Micaëla (Bizet "Carmen"), Léïla (Bizet "Les pêcheurs de perles"), Valencienne (Lehár "The Merry Widow") and Alexandra Mason (John "The Eighth Wonder"), among others. Stacey Alleaume's other roles include Pamina (Mozart "The Magic Flute"), Sophie (Massenet "Werther"), Gilda (Verdi "Rigoletto"), Donna Fiorilla (Rossini "Il turco in Italia"), Susanna (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro"), Rosina (Rossini "Il barbiere di Siviglia") and Violetta Valéry (Verdi "La traviata"). As Gilda, Stacey Alleaume, who works primarily at Opera Australia in Sydney and Melbourne, made her European debut at the Bregenz Festival in 2019, where she was re-engaged in the same role in 2021. Other guest engagements have taken her to Opera Hong Kong and the Fondazione Petruzelli in Bari/Italy as Violetta Valéry and to the Royal Opera House in Muscat as Frasquita (Bizet "Carmen).
In the 2022/23 season, Stacey Alleaume made both her role and house debut at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Amina in Bellini's “La sonnambula”. In the 2024/25 season, she will return to the Rhine as Lucia (“Lucia di Lammermoor”) and Beatrice in Bellini's “Beatrice di Tenda”.
