Rachael Wilson

The American mezzo-soprano Rachael Wilson was recently awarded the Bavarian Honorary Prize for the Arts. The Las Vegas-born singer is a graduate of the Juilliard School and was a member of the opera studio of the Bavarian State Opera, where she has also been a member of the ensemble since 2015 - from 2019 to 2022, Rachael Wilson was a member of the ensemble at the Stuttgart State Opera.
Her engagements this season include her role debut as Donna Elvira ("Don Giovanni") at Santa Fe Opera and Malmö Opera, Lola in "Cavalleria Rusticana" at the Royal Opera House and the title role of Carmen in a new production at Theater Basel. She will then return to the Bavarian State Opera, Zurich Opera House, Stuttgart State Opera and the Glyndebourne Festival, and will make her debut at the opera houses in Lausanne and Hamburg.
In the 2022/23 season, Rachael made her debut at the Zurich Opera House as Balkis in a new production of Offenbach's "Barkouf" and at the Glyndebourne Festival as Hermia ("A Midsummer Night's Dream"). She also presented herself with outstanding success in Stuttgart as Charlotte in "Werther" and Carmen. On the concert stage, Rachael Wilson has performed Messiaen's "Harawi" at the Ruhrtriennale and the Spoleto Festival; together with the American Modern Opera Company, she staged a concert production of John Adam's "El Nino" in New York City and made her debut with the Orchestre national d'Île de France in Prokofiev's "Ivan the Terrible".
