Ömer Faruk Dede
Ömer Faruk Dede began his musical education at the State Conservatory of Akdeniz University in Antalya. He studied at the Folkwang University Essen and the HfM Hanns Eisler in Berlin with professors Niek de Groot and Esko Laine. After additional studies with Prof. Petru Iuga, he completed his master class exam at the HfM Mannheim in 2023.
Ömer Faruk Dede was an academy member of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra from 2012 to 2014 and has been a permanent member of the orchestra since September 2016. The double bassist is a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra founded by Daniel Barenboim and was an academy member of the Orchestra Academy of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra and the MCO Academy at the Orchesterzentrum NRW. He has also been a lecturer for double bass at the Folkwang UdK in Essen since 2018.
