Ivan Tursic

The Croatian tenor Ivan Tursic initially studied civil engineering. In 2000 he began studying singing at the Academy of Music in Zagreb with Noni Žunec and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart with Dunja Vejzović. Between 2007 and 2015 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatsoper Hannover and since the 2015/2016 season he has been engaged at the Komische Oper Berlin. Guest engagements have taken him to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, the Opéra Comique in Paris, the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, Theater Basel, the Erkel-Theater Budapest, Bremen, Geneva, Dessau, Kassel and Krefeld/Mönchengladbach as well as to China (Beijing, Xiamen, Guangzhou), Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima), Australia (Perth, Adelaide) and New Zealand (Auckland).
Ivan Turšić is also active in the concert, song and oratorio repertoire. He has performed at various festivals, including the BBC Proms (London), the George Enescu Festival Bucharest, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival and the Zagreb Music Biennale.
In the 2024/25 season, Ivan Turšić can be seen as Monostatos (Mozart: “The Magic Flute”) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
