Felicia Hamza
Felicia Hamza was a junior and bachelor student at the Conservatory of Music in Maastricht with Mirel Iancovici. She then studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin under Stephan Forck. She has won several competitions, including first prize at the national competition “Jugend Musiziert” in the solo cello category, the 1st Lions Music Prize, third prize at the international cello competition “Ëdmont Baert” in Brussels and 2nd prize at the “Peter Pirazzi Foundation” in Frankfurt. Felicia Hamza gained her first orchestral experience in the German National Youth Orchestra. From 2015-2022 she was a scholarship holder of the Dutch Instrument Fund Amsterdam and played a Dutch instrument by Piet Rombouts from 1689.
As a soloist, she regularly performs with international orchestras, most recently in Italy under the baton of Uri Segal. She also performs in various chamber music ensembles, for example as part of the foyer concert at the Berufskolleg Gladbeck or at the Palais Concert in St. Petersburg.
She was an academy member of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig and has been a permanent member of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker since the 2024.25 season.
