Emine Güner
Stage and Costume Designer
The Turkish set designer Emine Güner studied product design and worked as a furniture and toy designer in Turkey, where she designed various toys for children and young people with disabilities together with the association Fördern durch Spielmittel e.V. Berlin. In 2009, she moved to Germany and completed her Master's degree in scenography and communication. She then worked as a set assistant at Schauspiel Essen. Since the 2015/16 season, she has been working as a set designer at the Dortmund Theatre for opera and ballet. She has also worked there as a set and costume designer for a number of productions and is also active as a freelance set and costume designer. Since 2017, she has been working with the director Ilaria Lanzino and has created the sets for Telemann's "Pimpinone", Bartók's "Duke Bluebeard's Castle" and Donizetti's "L'elisir d'amore" at the Staatstheater Nuremberg, as well as for the world premiere of "The Princess on the Pumpkin" by Roland Fister at the Landestheater Coburg.
At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Emine Güner has so far been responsible for the stage design of Viktor Ullmann's "Der Kaiser von Atlantis", the production of "Gold!" by Leonard Evers and Diana Syrse's "Der Kiosk", among others. She returns here in the 2022/23 season with her stage design for Lucia Ronchetti's "Das fliegende Klassenzimmer".
